Preparation for Sex Change Surgery

Every operation needs a preparation. In line with the sex change procedure, you should inform your surgeon with your age, weight, and height and any underlying disease and conditions that might affect the impact of the procedure. If you are over the age of 40 then you need to complete all the necessary laboratory test which includes fasting blood sugar, CBC, chest x-ray, kidney and liver function test, and electrocardiogram (EKG). Consult a doctor who specializes in medicine and check if your entire lab test is okay for major operations. In case if they find serious illness like for example heart disease and hypertension then the operation should be postponed not until you get treated and the doctor allows you to be operated. Tell you surgeon what are your preferences before the surgery. Patients are required to submit the following documents before the sex change operation.

1. One piece of photo identification such as driver’s license, unified card, passport, and other personal identification.

2. Secure original signed or hard copies of documents that claimed diagnoses and referrals because they will collect it during your consultation.

3.Patient must discontinue taking hormones three to four weeks prior to and one week after the surgery.
